China Town Moscow

During extreme communism in China years ago, the people had to do dances/performances/ect… some people still do it today.

Site seeing in Shanghai and other small towns.

We visited the tea garden today in Shanghai. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions here. While we were here we tried different types of tea. The video posted is a jasmine flowering tea. When you place the ball of tea into the hot water it slowly turns into a pretty flower and flavors the water. It was really good. :)

Here are a couple pictures from the Buddhist temples we visited. The buildings here are ancient but the buddhist relics inside are brand new because during Chinas extreme communist days they washed out religion and destroyed all the old relics.

Me and Danielle getting our Chinese breakfast on and warm weird milk. We usually eat noodles and little balls filled with weird things.

a green rice ball filled with a bean paste on the inside… it was awful.

// Shanghai//

I haven’t kept up with my blog very well because the internet at our hotel in Shanghai didn’t work very well. But, after a short plane ride I have arrived in Dalian, China.

In Shanghai I’ve done so much I don’t even know where to start. The first two days the weather was so hot I thought I was going to die. But the last 3 days have been chilly and rainy. We get from place to place using the subway, bus, and train.. but we mostly walk everywhere. The people here look at us like we are zoo animals. They will literally get two feet away from you and just stare you in the face. I stare back and for the most part the people get the hint then but some of the old men just keep standing there staring. It’s really funny. The people here drive like maniacs. They will drive on the wrong side of the road and just lay on their horn hoping for people to get out of the way. I don’t even know how many times I’ve thought I was going to get hit with a moped.

I think the weirdest thing I have experienced so far in China is the bathroom situation. In China public restrooms there are no toilets seats, let alone normal toilets, toilet paper or soap. In order to go the bathroom you have to squat over a trough that runs on the ground or you squat over a hole in the ground. I miss American bathrooms.

Since being here I’ve gone to multiple art museums, chinese gardens, buddhist temples, ect. Pictures will follow.

I am looking forward to trying all different kinds of Chinese cigarettes on my trip through China. However, if you are in Shanghai… don’t buy this pack. They are ridiculous.
